Task Groups have been established within IIFC

Task Groups (TG) have been established within IIFC to promote research and collaboration on emerging topics with widespread interest among both the research and industry members. TGs are initiated by a steering committee including three members under the supervision of ExCom:

  • TGs coordination and management: Elyas Ghafoori, Leibniz University Hannover
  • Internal communication cross TGs: Cristina Barris, University of Girona
  • External communication and outreach, Chao Wu, Imperial College London

Six TGs have been formed, as follows:

  • TG1. Sustainable Fibre Composite Materials (Leaders: Jovan Tatar, University of Delaware; Francesca Roscini, Università degli studi Niccolò Cusano)
  • TG2. Sustainable End-of-Life FRP Scenarios (Chao Wu, Imperial College London; Amr El-Nemr, German University in Cairo; Ali Hadigheh, The University of Sydney)
  • TG3: FRP in Extreme Settings (Aamir Dean, Leibniz Universität Hannover)
  • TG4: Digital FRPs (Dimitra Achillopoulou, University of Glasgow; Amr El-Nemr, German University in Cairo)
  • TG5: Advanced FRP Manufacturing Techniques (Baolin Wan, Marquette University)
  • TG6: Editorial team of IIFC practice-oriented notes (Dawn Cheng, UC Davis; Qian-qian Yu, Tongji University; Ravi Kanitkar, KL Structures Group)

Each TG will:

  • Identify new research directions and needs
  • Organize IIFC webinars and special conference sessions
  • Publish in top journals and the IIFC newsletter
  • Facilitate international collaborations and research visits
  • Contribute to funding proposals
  • Meet online regularly and in-person at CICE conferences
  • Report annually to the IIFC Executive Committee
